2020 CENSUS: 2020 Census data collection will continue at least until September 30, 2020. Anyone who has not yet responded to the Census can be counted easily online (my2020census.gov), by phone (844-330-2020 in English or 844-468-2020 in Spanish), or by paper form. North Carolina communities receive $1,823 per person per year in funding based on Census numbers. Your responses are confidential and protected by Title 13 of the US Code for 72 years. Taking 10 minutes to complete your 2020 Census helps the future of your neighborhood for the next 10 years.

Town Hall Is open with requirement for face covering: In response to the Coronavirus-19 awareness threat, a face covering/mask will be required to enter Town Hall. The Town of Cleveland’s top priority is the health, safety and security of our community and employees. All residents are encouraged to conduct utilities payments utilizing its online payment feature at http://www.clevelandnc.org; depositing your payment in our payment drop box located outside in the Town Hall parking lot (DO NOT DEPOSIT CASH FROM 4:00 PM TO 8:30 AM OR ON WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS); by mail or by calling the Town offices at 704 278-4777 and making your payment over the phone during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 to 12 and 1 to 4:30). Additional fees apply to phone and on-line payments due to third party vendors providing that service. You may email questions to the Town at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Town Park open but playground, restrooms and shelters remain closed: Due to the State Stay At Home Order, the Town Park will be only be open for walking and open-space activities. We appreciate our community’s understanding in these difficult times.
Job Vacancy – Part-time Police Officers – The Town of Cleveland, population 882, is seeking individuals to fill part-time Police Officer positions. Possession of a N.C. Driver’s License and NC General Certificate in Law Enforcement is required. Salary: $14.35 to $16.00/hour. 2020 Garbage/Recycling Collection Changes: The following weeks will have garbage and/or recycling picked up on Saturday instead of Friday: the week that includes New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Saturday dates are January 4, April 11, May 30, September 12, November 28 and December 26. If recycling pickup is scheduled during the above weeks, it will also be delayed until Saturday.
2020 Town Hall Closings: Town Hall will be closed for the following holidays in 2020: January 1 (New Year’s), January 20 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), April 10 (Easter), May 25 (Memorial Day), July 3 (for the 4th), September 7 (Labor Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 26 & 27 (Thanksgiving), December 24, 25 & 28 (Christmas).
