NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: The Town of Cleveland hereby gives notice that the FY 2021-22 proposed budget has been submitted to the Board of Commissioners. The proposed budget is available for review at Town Hall. A public hearing to receive public comment will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: Notice is hereby given that the Cleveland Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The purpose of this hearing will be to receive public comment on proposed Zoning Ordinance text amendments to comply with NCGS 160D. Interested persons are invited to attend and participate in this hearing.
Maintenance Worker – Full-time
The Town is seeking a self-motivating individual and a team player to fill a vacancy in the Maintenance Department. The job includes maintenance of all buildings, grounds and right of ways; heavy equipment operation, grass mowing, water/sewer taps and repairs to water/wastewater systems. Must be willing to attend schools and seminars in areas that would benefit the Town and be willing to obtain state certifications in water and wastewater operations to backup for these areas. High school diploma or GED required. Must be available to respond to any emergencies after hours. Starting salary is $16 per hour. Applications are available HERE or at Town Hall. Police Officer – Full-time
The Town of Cleveland, pop. 882, is seeking an individual to fill the position of full-time Police Officer. Possession of a NC Driver’s License and certified as a law enforcement officer in NC required. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. All residents are encouraged to conduct utilities payments utilizing its online payment feature at http://www.clevelandnc.org; depositing your payment in our payment drop box located outside in the Town Hall parking lot (DO NOT DEPOSIT CASH FROM 4:00 PM TO 8:30 AM OR ON WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS); by mail or by calling the Town offices at 704 278-4777 and making your payment over the phone during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 to 12 and 1 to 4:30). 2021 Garbage/Recycling Collection Changes: The following weeks will have garbage and/or recycling picked up on Saturday instead of Friday: the week that includes New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. The Saturday dates are January 2, April 3, June 5, September 11 and November 27. If recycling pickup is scheduled during the above weeks, it will also be delayed until Saturday.
2021 Town Hall Closings: Town Hall will be closed for the following holidays in 2021: January 1 (New Year’s), January 18 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), April 2 (Easter), May 31 (Memorial Day), July 5 (for the 4th), September 6 (Labor Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 25 & 26 (Thanksgiving), December 23, 24 & 27 (Christmas).
