Notice of Public Hearing-FY 2020-21 Budget: A public hearing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 7:30 pm at Town Hall to receive public comment on the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2020-21. The proposed budget is available for review at Town Hall.

Notice of Public Hearing: Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 7:30 pm at Town Hall. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comment on proposed text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance to add air curtain burners as a conditional use in the M2-Heavy Industrial District.

Town Hall To Open on May 11, 2020 with requirement for face covering:  In response to the Coronavirus-19 awareness threat, Town Hall has been closed to walk-in traffic since March 31st. The Town of Cleveland’s top priority is the health, safety and security of our community and employees. Town Hall will be open on Monday, May 11th but is requiring anyone entering Town Hall to have face covering/mask to conduct business. All residents are encouraged to conduct utilities payments utilizing its online feature at;  or depositing your payment in our payment drop box located outside in the Town Hall parking lot (DO NOT DEPOSIT CASH FROM 4:00 PM TO 8:30 AM OR ON WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS); by mail or by calling the Town offices at 704 278-4777 and making your payment over the phone during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 to 12 and 1 to 4:30).  Additional fees apply to phone and on-line payments due to third party vendors providing that service. Town Park open but playground, restrooms and shelters remain closed: Due to the State Stay At Home Order, the Town Park will be only be open for walking and open-space activities. We appreciate our community’s understanding in these difficult times.

Job Vacancy – Water/Wastewater Operator – The individual selected will perform the day to day operations of the Well Water and Wastewater Treatment systems including monitoring and troubleshooting. Will also perform the duties of Maintenance Worker as needed and time permits with priority given to operation of the wastewater system. Possession of a NC Driver’s License and Grade 2 Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification, willing to obtain Grade 1 Collection System Operator Certification along with C-Well System Operator and Grade B Distribution System Operator Certifications. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years experience in wastewater operation and general maintenance. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. 2020 Garbage/Recycling Collection Changes: The following weeks will have garbage and/or recycling picked up on Saturday instead of Friday: the week that includes New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Saturday dates are January 4, April 11, May 30, July 4, September 12, November 28 and December 26. If recycling pickup is scheduled during the above weeks, it will also be delayed until Saturday.

2020 Town Hall Closings: Town Hall will be closed for the following holidays in 2020: January 1 (New Year’s), January 20 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), April 10 (Easter), May 25 (Memorial Day), July 3 (for the 4th), September 7 (Labor Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 26 & 27 (Thanksgiving), December 24, 25 & 28 (Christmas).
