Change in Garbage Collection: Beginning February 5, 2021 the Town’s contractor will pick up garbage/recycling as early as 6:00 am. You are encouraged to put your cans out the night before so that you don’t miss a pickup.

CORONAVIRUS: STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION WITHIN THE TOWN OF CLEVELAND AND ROWAN COUNTY: On March 20th, the Town joined with Rowan County in issuing this declaration due to the imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). For up-to-date information on COVID-19 in the County, go to www.rowancountync.gov.
RECYCLING UPDATE: As of January 1, 2020, glass bottles and jars are no longer picked up with your recycling. Put all glass in your garbage can.
The Rowan Public Library has a Cleveland Outreach Program in Cleveland until the new West Rowan Library is open. Books are available for citizens to check out and bring back when finished reading. Please limit 3 books per person. A sign out book is provided. A variety of books are available including children, youth, fiction and non-fiction. The library is located beside Town Hall in the green building and is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on days when Town Hall is open. As of March 31, 2020, the library is closed due to the Coronavirus emergency going on.
